A Simple Way to Make an Extra $200 a Month

I am very confident that this simple tip could make anyone an extra $200 a month, if not more. I started my own business doing junk removal in San Diego and I usually make an extra $500-$700 a month selling used items. You would be very surprised to see what people throw away all the time. I am not saying that you have to go diving into dumpsters or start a junk removal company. But I can guarantee that you have things lying around your house that you never use that could be sold online without a problem. But what if you don’t have anything in your entire house or apartment to sell? There’s more…

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure- or in my line of work, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. I believe that everyone in your neighborhood has junk or trash that needs to be hauled away a few times a year. This means that people all around you are throwing away things that could easily be sold online. I have asked my neighbors if they are throwing away anything that I could possibly resell online. They have given me flat screen tv’s, outside furniture, lawn mowers, and more. People hate clutter, but they also hate throwing away things that they think could be used again. I hear that all the time in the junk removal business. So ask your friends or neighbors if they are planning on throwing away anything that they think could be reused!

I typically use Offerup instead of Craigslist because it’s much simpler to use. I can post something and manage it on the app with my Iphone at anytime. Here’s a list of 7 things that sell very easily:

  1. Used weights, dumbbells, or work-out machines
  2. Old electronics like tv’s or smartphones
  3. Yard tools. (i.e. lawn mowers or chainsaws)
  4. Power tools
  5. Furniture (Couches are hard but tables and dressers are easier)
  6. Clothes
  7. Gaming systems (Old or new sell quick)
