There are many reasons people want to get rid of in-ground pools. Many older pools have cracks and leak water over time. They also can be a hassle to maintain, especially when all of your equipment stops working, and the pool becomes more like a pond!
One of the first steps in the pool demolition process is obtaining a permit from the city. We will take care of this for you and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and filed correctly. You don’t have to worry about dealing with the city at all!
OUR SIMPLE PROCESS
Permitting
Obtain a permit from the city.
Prep Work
We get heavy machinery into the backyard by removing gates or fence panels. We can also uproot plants and replant after we are finished.
Demo Begins
Begin to break the concrete and coping around the pool 2-3 ft below ground level
Ensure Proper Drainage
We break a 3ft by 3ft hole at the lowest point of the bottom of the pool to ensure proper drainage.
Pool Backfill
We backfill the rest of the pool with dirt to 90% compaction.
Plumbing & Electrical
We cap off all plumbing and electrical running to the pool equipment.
Clean-up & Grading
We clean up and grade the backyard to the clients desire.
All of this usually takes 4-5 days for us to complete the demolition process. We do everything to code per San Diego codes for pool demolition
